Welcome and thank you for visiting my site, I hope you enjoy the material and images within. My Name is Dean Watson and I have been an astronomer for pretty much all my life since about the age of five when my dad gave me newspaper clippings from the Moon landings. I wish I still had them and yet in a sense I do as they are one of the formative parts of my makeup and have stayed with me in a way that paper never could.
I grew up (although that's a matter of opinion...) in the era of spaceflight and Star Wars, of Tomorrow's world on the TV on a Thursday and Doctor Who on Saturday nights. Having been working in marketing for the past 20 years I thought that now was the time to start my own platform for not just my astronomical imaging but any experiences that I thought might be worth sharing.
I image (photographers photograph, astronomers image!) from my own observatory in Lincolnshire with its glorious big skies using a Celestron CPC1100 11 inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope with a APM 80/480 Apochromatic refractor for all my deep sky work (using a Digital SLR camera). But who cares about that, enjoy the pretty pictures!
